Good Questions, Honest Answers

Everything Louisville neighbors usually want to know before their first visit — and if we missed one, just call.

What parts of Louisville do you cover?

We're based in Louisville (40202) and cover about a 20-mile radius, which takes in most of Jefferson County. That includes downtown, NuLu and Butchertown, Old Louisville, Germantown and Schnitzelburg, the Highlands, Crescent Hill and Clifton, the South End and the West End, plus the separate small cities and suburbs like St. Matthews, Lyndon, Middletown, Jeffersontown, Okolona, Fern Creek and Shively. If you're not sure, call and ask — we usually make it work.

Do you give free estimates?

Yes. Most small jobs can be priced from a few photos and a short phone call, and larger or less obvious jobs get a free in-person look. Either way you'll know the price before anything is scheduled.

Do you charge by the hour or by the job?

Wherever we can, we price the job itself so you know the total ahead of time. For open-ended punch lists we agree on a rate and a rough scope first, so nothing comes as a surprise. If something goes faster than expected, you pay less.

Are you insured?

Yes, we're general liability insured, and we're glad to send proof before we start. If your condo association or property manager needs a certificate on file before work in the building, tell us when you book and we'll get it to them.

Are your pros licensed and insured?

Yes. The work is done by insured local pros who hold the licenses and registrations required in Kentucky for the job at hand, so electrical and plumbing connections are handled by licensed tradespeople. Ask us anything before we start.

Do you work on older Louisville houses with plaster walls?

All the time. A big share of our work is in Old Louisville, the Highlands, Germantown and Crescent Hill, where the walls are plaster on wood lath or brick, the doors are heavy and the frames have settled out of square. We patch plaster so the repair doesn't telegraph through the paint, use anchors made for lath and masonry when we mount TVs and shelves, and replace tired ceiling boxes and cloth-insulated wiring when we hang new fans and fixtures. Tell us the age of the house when you call and we'll come ready for it.

Can you help after a storm or an ice storm?

We can take care of the smaller cleanup that follows a Louisville storm — re-hanging gutters pulled down by ice, resetting fence sections a limb knocked over, patching ceiling stains once a roof leak is fixed, and securing loose trim. Tree removal, roof replacement and anything structural belong with those specialists, and we'll tell you if what we're seeing points that way.

How soon can you come out?

It depends on the season — spring and early fall fill up fastest — but small jobs are often scheduled within the week. Call or text a photo of what's going on, and we'll give you an honest answer on timing along with the quote.
